Fall is harvest season in Wisconsin, and it’s right around the corner. You’re probably thinking we want to talk corn
as it is highly visible as you drive by. However, we’re focusing on a product that Wisconsin is easily the number
one producer of in the country, cranberries. We were recently at the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association (WSCGA) Summer Meeting
Show at the Brockway Cranberry Company in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Did you know that in 2015, Wisconsin produced 4,856,000 million barrels of cranberries and is projected to hit 5,209,700 million barrels this year? Each barrel weighs 100 pounds and if you do the math for this year’s projected harvest, that’s 520,970,000 pounds of cranberries! That being said, it takes some serious equipment to harvest and transport the product to its destination!
Here for the Farmers!
V&H has been a member of the Wisconsin Cranberry Association for 25 years and proudly serve the
cranberry growers community of Wisconsin. We were very excited to attend this event as it is close to home with it only being an hour from our Marshfield location. We wanted to show the kind of equipment we can provide cranberry farmers for the harvest season. Our booth included two trucks that were setup and ready to go for the cranberry harvest as well as a new
Western Star Truck giving folks at the convention a sample of what we’re all about.
If you’re gearing up for harvest but need new equipment to handle the job, or repairs to your current machinery, let’s get in touch and make sure you’re ready for the first day!
